Practitioner Hager chose a dual education path in medicine and mental health with substance abuse to best position herself as a holistic provider. “It is my goal to provide quality, evidence-based addiction, mental health and medical care, while practicing holistic nursing”. As a certified Family Nurse Practitioner, and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with Substance Abuse subspecialty training she can focus on medical as well as the psychological aspects contributing to addiction and other life challenges. Her ability to provide advanced holistic evaluation and management of clients is of great benefit when addressing the complexities of co-occurring issues with our clients.

“I am no stranger to addiction ~ I have experienced first-hand the struggles faced in addiction as well as what addiction can bring to the loved ones of those who suffer from this disease. I lost my oldest son to addiction in early 2019. My youngest son is serving a long period of incarceration related to his addiction. These struggles are very real! Over the years of watching this unfold - my path became clear. In honor of my son’s life, it is my hope that my unique experiences can encourage those who seek sobriety - to attain just that.”

Practitioner Hager, recently relocated back to Iowa from San Antonio Texas where she resided since 2012. In 2014 she completed her Family Nurse Practitioner degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center SA, and recently completed her Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with Substance Abuse degree from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. As a holistic provider “I focus to meet the client where they are, often times it is their lowest point.”

Her favorite quote, “Success is not final, failure is not fatal; it is the courage to continue that counts,” sets the tone for the tenacious work she does with those under her care.

In her free time, Judith enjoys spending time entertaining with her husband, family and friends, music, motorcycling, landscaping and being outdoors with her two yellow labs.
